1) Firmaroad is supplied as standard in 200lt plastic drums. It can also be ordered in 20lt containers or 1000lt IBC if required

2) Firmaroad can be stored for a number of years if necessary.

3) Firmaroad is safe, and does not require any sophisticated safety equipment – refer to SDS.

4) Firmaroad is environmentally friendly and non-toxic.

5) Firmaroad can be used in standard water trucks and soil stabilising machines.

6) Firmaroad treated material can be reworked without requiring more chemical.

7) Firmaroad SS-3 only needs to be added to water on site.

8) Firmaroad SS-3 reduces dust due to its ability to form a dense tightly bound pavement which can be open to traffic within hours.

9) Firmaroad SS-3 treated base pavements can be used in sealed or unsealed condition depending on the project budget. This is extremely useful for companies needing to construct short term detours/sidetracks to carry high volumes of traffic during construction or emergency situations. The long-lasting surface of unsealed Firmaroad SS-3 treated pavements is also a great advantage in developing countries allowing them to construct additional km’s of pavement with limited budgets.

10) Firmaroad SS-3 users can alter the dosage rate to better match the volume of clay/fines contained in the material to be treated. A standard Atterberg test to determine the soil composition may reveal only a low clay content/PI which would only require a reduced amount of chemical to achieve a satisfactory improvement to meet project specifications. This flexibility is not an option with all products and allows project management to treat many more ^m3 of pavement material while saving funds without using excessive chemical un-necessarily. In some cases, only half the quantity of Firmaroad SS-3 chemical will be required compared to the recommended dosage of other products. Refer to Product user manual.

11) Firmaroad SS-3 treated pavements provide extended periods of use without the need of regular maintenance. Once treated the clay particles no longer attract or retain water so the pavement surface and shoulders will resist the penetration of moisture in future.

12) Firmaroad SS-3 presents the opportunity for stake holders to make use of readily available local materials which would have previously been considered unsuitable due to containing clay. The application process is fast, cost saving and permanent.

13) Firmaroad SS-3 is suitable for subgrades, earthworks, base course, air strips, construction machinery yards, rail line formations, even pothole repair and culvert headwall backfilling while reducing erosion.  

14) Firmaroad SS-3 contributes towards fuel efficiency due to less rolling resistance on unsealed mining haul roads.

15) Firmaroad SS-3 is convenient and economical to transport and store.

16) Firmaroad SS-3 allows more productive working hours as the product can be used in hot/cold/windy conditions and even light rain (while observing OMC).
